FWC "Call of the Wild" Teacher Appreciation Weekend Oct. 4, 2008
Amy Richard, CAIP's Education Initiative Coordinator, was pleased to attend Project WILD's "Call of the Wild" volunteer appreciation weekend. The event was organized by Lori Haynes, Project WILD Coordinator. (Note: Project WILD is sponsored by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.)
Amy provided field guides for the freshwater airboat field trips on Lake Eaton which were concurrent with upland "black bear tour" field trips. The bear trips were expertly led by Mike Orlando, with FWC.
After lunch, Amy gave a brief presentation about the Invasive Plant Education Initiative. Her session ended with a lively game of Freshwater Plant BINGO! Winners were awarded sets of the newly developed Flash Cards (Non-native Invasive Plants You Should Know).
Many thanks to all involved and kudos to all of the Project WILD participants -- a great group of educators.
