JS has a BS degree in biology from Penn State and currently holds the title of Environmental Administrator for the Aquatic Plant Management Section in the DEP Bureau of Invasive Plant Management. He has worked with the Bureau for 27 years; five years researching the aquatic plant eating grass carp, seven years as the Bureau's permitting administrator, and 15 years coordinating DEP's statewide aquatic plant management program conducted in Florida's public waters. He helped develop Florida's annual aquatic plant inventory, aquatic plant permitting regulations, and priority system for managing plants in public waters. He has also helped produce a number of educational materials for the public, for teachers and for aquatic plant managers. jeff.schardt@dep.state.fl.us
