Amy Richard
AR has been involved in aquatic-related education since 1987 when she began a quarterly publication for children about marine ecology. From 1996-2004, she worked as Information Specialist for the Florida LAKEWATCH Program (UF/IFAS). During that time she helped produce dozens of educational materials concerning freshwater lakes, aquaculture, and water management issues. She has also worked as a freelance artist/illustrator for numerous magazines. AR has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas where she studied with Jerry Newman, a renowned wildlife artist.

Beth DeGroat
Beth maintains the two existing APIRS web sites, creating new web pages for both, in addition to developing future web sites for the Center. She also maintains the digital/slide photo archives and educational material inventory.

    Jeff Schardt, project co-director
    JS has a BS degree in biology from Penn State and currently holds the title of Environmental Administrator for the Aquatic Plant Management Section in the DEP Bureau of Invasive Plant Management. He has worked with the Bureau for 27 years; five years researching the aquatic plant eating grass carp, seven years as the Bureau's permitting administrator, and 15 years coordinating DEP's statewide aquatic plant management program conducted in Florida's public waters. He helped develop Florida's annual aquatic plant inventory, aquatic plant permitting regulations, and priority system for managing plants in public waters. He has also helped produce a number of educational materials for the public, for teachers and for aquatic plant managers.
