Hydrilla verticillataHygrophila polysperma

Welcome to the Osceola County Hydrilla and Hygrophila Demonstration Project Website. This site is intended to provide information on the biology of Hydrilla verticillata (hydrilla) and Hygrophila polysperma (hygrophila), the problems these aquatic weeds cause and information on the Demonstration Project.

The goal of this interactive website is to keep citizens/agencies informed of the current research that is being conducted on hydrilla and hygrophila, a.k.a. the “Terrible Twosome.”  View the project reports to find up-to-date information about what the researchers are discovering to better manage these aquatic weeds.

You can be involved! This website also provides ways for citizens to communicate with the researchers with any questions and/or concerns.  Please feel free to contact us to have specific questions answered or to voice your opinion on aquatic plant management.

To find out about past and upcoming aquatic plant management activities in Osceola County, see the Interagency Aquatic Plant Management SharePoint site.  NOTE: You will need the below user name and password to access the site. User Name: Reader.iapm@myfwc.com Password: APM97IAPM. It may not work if you copy and paste it, you may need to hand type it.
