Elliot's love grass is grass found among flatwoods, sandhills, and prairies from summer through fall. There are 30 varieties and species of Eragrostis in Florida (Wunderlin, 2003). Elliot's love grass occurs in the southeastern U.S.; in PR; and the Virgin Islands (Kartesz, 1999).
