    Houstonia procumbens is a flowering, perennial plant.

    Innocence is present in the southeast states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina and South Carolina (Kartesz, 1999). It is commonly found growing in sandhills, dunes, flatwoods, hammocks and disturbed sites throughout Florida. It blooms from spring to fall (Wunderlin, 2003).
