    Macroptilium lathyroides is found in open, disturbed sites and is frequent in Nassau county, the central and southern peninsula and central and western panhandle of Florida. It is native to tropical America but escaped cultivation (Wunderlin, 2003).

    Wild bushbean is located in Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, South Carolina, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands (Kartesz, 1999).
