    Fall panic grass is but one of about 18 panic grasses that are in Florida - most of them are native. Fall panic grass is found in marshes and wet flatwoods nearly throughout the state; it flowers in the spring through fall (Wunderlin, 2003).

    Panicum dichotomiflorum is found throughout the U.S. and much of Canada (Kartesz, 1999). There are nearly 70 Panicum species and varieties in North America.
