This magnificent palm tree is a rare native of the swamps and cypress sloughs of Collier, Miami-Dade and Palm Beach Counties, Florida (Wunderlin, 2003). It is also frequently sold in the nursery trade. The royal palm also occurs in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands (Kartesz, 1999). |
