Stachys floridana is a flowering, perennial, wetland plant that is commonly found in flatwoods and disturbed sites from the northern counties south to the central peninsula and Miami-Dade County (Wunderlin, 2003). Florida hedgenettle blooms from spring to fall and is equally likely to occur in wetlands or non-wetlands (estimated probability 34%-66%). It is located throughout the southeastern United States (Kartesz, 1999).
