Stenotaphrum secundatum is a flowering, perennial, wetland grass that is frequently found in river banks, hammocks, and disturbed sites peninsula, central and western panhandle of Florida (Wunderlin, 2003). St Augustine grass blooms from spring to fall and is equally likely to occur in wetlands or non-wetlands (estimated probability 34%-66%). It is located throughout the southeastern United States (Kartesz, 1999).
