Bartram's airplant is a flowering bromeliad and perennial plant. Tillandsia bartramii is frequently found growing epiphytically in hammocks of the northern and central peninsula west to the central panhandle (Wunderlin, 2003). It blooms from spring to fall.
It's current distribution includes Florida, Georgia and Puerto Rico, though it is rare in the latter two. Bartram's
airplant could historically be found in South Carolina, but it has since been extirpated there (Kartesz, 1999).
