giant airplant

Giant airplant is a flowering bromeliad. It is a perennial and epiphytic wetland plant.

It's current distribution includes Florida, Puerto Rico and Georgia, though it is rare in the latter (Kartesz, 1999). Within Florida, it is commonly found in hammocks and swamps of the central and southern peninsula (Wunderlin, 2003). Tillandsia setacea blooms in the summer.
