Cicuta maculata is a flowering, wetland plant.

All parts of this plant are toxic and may cause death if ingested.

Spotted water hemlock has a vast distribution, found nearly throughout North America (Kartesz, 1999). It is frequently found in swamps, marshes, and river margins nearly throughout the state of Florida. It blooms from summer to fall (Wunderlin, 2003).
