Yellow jessamine is frequently found growing in flatwoods and hammocks from the northern counties of Florida south to the central peninsula. It blooms in winter through spring. There are two species of Gelsemium in Florida (Wunderlin, 2003). Yellow jessamine is found in the southeast U.S. (Kartesz, 1999).
