There are about forty species of rosemallows that are found throughout the U.S. and much of Canada (Kartesz, 1999). About half of Florida’s 16 bushy rosemallows are native, with flower color ranging from white to pink to yellow to bright red.
This species, swamp rosemallow, is occasionally found in swamps and marshes throughout Florida (Wunderlin, 1998). Swamp rosemallow blooms in the spring and summer.
