There are six wild grape species in Florida. This one, Florida pigeon grape, is frequently found in the hammocks from the peninsula west to the central panhandle of Florida (Wunderlin, 2003). It flowers from spring to summer and is equally likely to occur in wetlands or non-wetlands (estimated probability 34%-66%).
Florida pigeon grape occurs from Virginia to Louisiana (Kartesz, 1999). There are about 18 species of wild grape in North America.
