Not Native to Florida
Chinese ladder brake fern is not native to Florida. This exotic escaped from cultivation and is now being found in thickets nearly throughout Florida (Wunderlin, 1998). It is also found in all southeastern states, as well as California, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico (Kartesz, 1999).
