Native to Florida
This native tree is frequent in Florida's moist to wet hammocks and maritime hammocks. It is frequent nearly throughout the statet (Wunderlin, 1998).
Live oaks have a large range, spanning through the southern states of Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Virginia, and the Carolina's (Kartesz, 1999).
