Endemic Native in Florida
Florida water cress is found only
in Florida. (It's endemic.) It is one of five water cresses in the state; one of
about 30 in the U.S. and Canada (Kartesz, 1999). Florida water cress may be found
in spring runs and blackwater swamps from the western panhandle to north central
Florida (Wunderlin, 1998). It blooms in the spring.
