This native tree is frequent in Florida's savannas, hammocks, and swamps. It is frequently found from the northern coast south to the central peninsula (Wunderlin, 1998).
Sabal palm's fruit, leaves, and stems are edible and is also utilized by honey bees (Kartesz, 1999).
