Citizens

Not only do local, state, and federal governments have a responsibility to protect our natural environments, it is also our duty as Florida citizens to take the initiative to contribute to the betterment of our local habitats.

In Florida, we share water, land, trees, plants, and wildlife with an ever-increasing population. In order to keep the real Florida healthy and available for everyone, we all need to take part in its conservation. One of the first steps is learning more about Florida’s natural environments and informing ourselves about invasive aquatic plants including why and how they are managed.

This section of the website is intended to provide citizens (of all ages) with basic information and resources they can use to inform themselves, their neighbors, friends, and family about the challenges presented by invasive plants. New content will be added regularly so be sure to check back.
