Virginia dayflower
Virginia dayflower is occasionally found growing in marshes and floodplains of the northern peninsula south to Marion county, and also in the central and western panhandle of Florida. It blooms from summer to fall (Wunderlin, 2003). It might easily be confused with a non-native invader, Tradescantia fluminensis.
One of about 20 species and varieties of native and non-native dayflowers in the U.S., Virginia dayflower occurs throughout the southeastern quarter of the country (Kartesz, 1999).
