Species Overview

Gordonia lasianthus is a flowering, perennial, wetland plant.

Loblolly bay is present in the southeastern U.S. states of Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina and South Carolina (Kartesz, 1999). It is frequent in the bayheads and swamps of northern and central counties of Florida (Wunderlin, 2003).
