Species Overview

This native tree is frequent in Florida’s moist to wet hammocks and maritime hammocks. It is frequent nearly throughout the state and blooms in the spring (Wunderlin, 2003).

Live oaks have a large range, spanning through the southern states of Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Virginia, and the Carolina’s (Kartesz, 1999).
