Dr. Benjamin P. Sperry is a research biologist for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Engineers Research and Development Center stationed at the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences Center for Aquatic and Invasive Plants (UF/IFAS CAIP), where he also holds a courtesy faculty appointment. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees from the UF College of Agricultural and Life Sciences in plant science and weed science, respectively, and earned his Ph.D. in weed science from Mississippi State University. His research program specializes in the following topics as they related to aquatic and invasive plant management: herbicide application technology and off-target movement, herbicide environmental fate, and integrated plant management.
