Native to: South America
Introduced as an attractive ornamental tree. It was documented outside of cultivation in Florida in the 1980s and can be found in disturbed sites in Palm Beach and Broward Counties.

Habit: Small perennial tree
Leaves: Palmately compound with five or seven leaflets, each leaflet 6–18 cm long, green with silvery scales both above and below.
Flowers: Bright yellow tubular flowers, up to 6.5 cm diameter, in a loose panicle.
Fruit: Slender 10 cm long capsule.
Distribution in Florida: Palm Beach and Broward Counties
